This homemade salt scrub is a take on the lush ocean salt cleanser which is a really awesome product! I have experimented with this recipe a little bit to get a DIY scrub that can be used for the body and face and has many of the beneficial properties of the original product. The cool thing about this scrub \/ cleanser is that it is completely natural, it’s cruelty free and it’s also really cheap when considering the life usage of the raw ingredients.<\/p>\n
Always keep in mind that these recipes are things I have tried out and enjoyed and therefore shared in the hopes they will as enjoyable for you. I am not trying to be a professional or claim to know it all (and anything I don’t know i would love to hear about! But approach your comments as advice, not hate!!). The natural blue colouring is made from red cabbage, water and baking soda. It is not a necessary ingredient, it just makes it look ‘nicer’. It doesn’t stain the skin like conventional colourings which is great for this purpose. Adding it does make its shelf-life less secure though, so only add a little and make sure to you use clean fingers.<\/p>\n
Homemade ocean salt cleanser recipe:
\n– 1\/4 cup red cabbage
\n– pinch baking soda
\n– 1\/4 cup hot water
\n– 2 Tbsp each of fine & coarse sea salt
\n– 1 lime finely zest
\n– 20 drops tangerine oil
\n– 2 Tbsp avocado oil
\n– 2 Tbsp coconut oil
\n– 1\/2 tsp wax
\n– optional: 2 Tbsp vegetable glycerine<\/p>\n
