Beautiful cocker spaniel who lived for 13 years – 3 of them with dementia and blindness. By the age of 11, Bob was almost completely deaf too. This never stopped beautiful Bob, though, from skipping and bouncing about near his human family’s feet, where he knew he was safe.
As a puppy, he was discovered for sale with his brothers at a local Summer market. The family knew that, without them scooping him up, his future in the hands of his heartless breeders was destined for more for-profit breeding from his irresponsible carers. So, they took the babe home.
They loved the boy so much that watching him slowly lose his ability to understand the world around him hurt so much.
Still, he lived almost 14 wonderful years where he loved and was loved. Never forgotten, our forever funny, bouncy, happy Bob is always in his human family’s thoughts.
Fun fact – Bob was also a loyal collector of rocks all his life! In fact, all his life, rare was the day that Bob would not return from his walks with a new rock for his collection, which he proudly hid at the back of his bed.
Bob died in 2011. This listing will serve as an example of a listing. And as a tribute to beautiful Bob.
As a further tribute to our boy Bob, a group has been opened in the community for fellow pet parents who are living with pets with dementia. It’s tough to know how to support our pets, so the hope is that by sharing our experiences with each other, we can provide better care for our pets and ourselves.
