Orphaned elephant Khanyisa is learning a lot on her walks with the Jabulani Herd
After a dramatic morning the day before, when Bubi injured Timisa, the morning walk with Khanyisa and the Jabulani herd went well. (Please refer to yesterday’s post for more info)
Adine got some more great footage of Khanyisa flanked by her gentle giant family as they went on their way into the reserve to forage.
Khanyisa got her little leg stuck in a small but deep hole, but our carers helped to lift her out, and she as unharmed.
It was great to see her and Timisa together for a bit of the morning, though you could see that Timisa was not her usual self, which is entirely understandable.
Watching Khanyisa closely, you can see just how much she has learned by being in the herd’s company every day. You will see a moment of her trying to strip some bark off a tree! The loving herd are showing her and guiding her with every moment they share!
