Khanyisa takes a lie down with Bubi and Kumbura in the wild.

Another precious moment in the continued gradual integration of this rescued calf into the Jabulani herd!

Khanyisa is the little life of the elephant party in this walk in the bush with her herd. She spends some time with the other young orphan, Timisa with whom she has been getting on so well! She joins Bubi several times during the excursion to suckle her allomother (providing her only with comfort not milk). It’s always so beautiful to see this show of elephant instincts. See if you can see Khanyisa let out a little ele-sneeze!

The albino calf joins Kumbura too and bathes in sand before lying down on the ground! A very telling moment that Elephant Manager, Tigere says shows that Khanyisa trusts the herd completely, knowing that they will protect her. Sweet Kumbura stands behind Khanyisa on the ground to form a protective wall around her. The calf’s lighter albino skin really camouflages so well in the bush! You could easily miss her little body!

Khanyisa enjoys a few more moments, playing with Timisa, sharing some trunk love with Kumbura and rumbling with Bubi!
