Albino elephant, Khanyisa enjoys a mud and sand wallow

A baby elephant dream come true! Khanyisa plays in the mud and sand on a morning with her friend and carer, Reply & Adine (and Lammie).

Mud has many benefits for little calf, Khanyisa – it’s cooling and helps to regulate her body temperature, and it provides protection against the sun and relief from biting insects.

But also, it looks mighty fun, doesn’t it? We especially love the trunk-leg-wrap part and the wonky wrist-walk!
