Who is behind KindBunch?

This project has been in the works since 2000. On a shoestring & with no investors, it's been a wild ride. But my pack of rescues has been my inspiration.

Get to know the pack that inspired KindBunch.

Pigeons

Pigeons—often dismissed as everyday city birds—are actually full of surprising qualities. They have an extraordinary sense of direction, able to find their way home from well over 1,600 kilometers away, using sharp eyesight and a sensitivity to the Earth’s magnetic field.

They’re devoted parents and partners: pigeon pairs share parenting duties, taking turns to incubate eggs and feed their chicks. That cooperation shows real social intelligence and family commitment.

Some studies even suggest pigeons can recognize themselves in mirrors, a sign of self-awareness usually associated with higher animals. Combine that smarts with their curious, personable behavior, and pigeons become far more than just urban wildlife—they’re clever, complex creatures worthy of a second look.
