how it works
The Mondego Fund Ledger
Welcome to our Fund Ledger – a public log of all transactions in our platform. We make this ledger available for all to see because the Animal Welfare sector needs transparency. This platform was built to help save lives. It is not for profit.
So, here is how it works – below, in the pink box, you can see exactly how much is available in the Fund at this very moment.
We run a simple shop – we take money from the business community, then distribute it throughout our community members, who, in turn, donate their credits to animal rescues of their choice.
We charge a specific fee per service, which is donated to the Mondego Fund, and then distributed to verified animal rescues in our Appeals Directory. Every dime is accounted for on this public ledger.
We raise money from the business community. For example, when a business adds a listing to our directory, 100% of their listing fee is deposited in the fund. You can track all payments made in the “Incoming payments” tab.
Learn more about how we raise money with the business community:
As a member, you earn credits from the fund just by interacting in our community. And, each day, you can donate your earnings to any animal rescue you wish. You can track the funds you raise right here, under the “My Wallet” tab, or, directly in your account from your Account Wallet.
Mondego was my boy, who passed in August 2021 at 14 years of age. I wrote about him in the About Us page and his memory will be kept alive on this profile.

For each payment, we charge a 10% handling fee that we add in our Admin Fund. This money covers costs incurred in the running of this platform, like gateway fees, hosting costs, technical support, tools, marketing, etc. All these payments are accounted for below under “The Admin Wallet”.
Admin & moderators work on a volunteer basis. We do not take salaries or charge personal expenses.
However, as we grow, KindBunch will be hiring and paying a salary to key staff, namely a project manager, a CFO and a techie to run the platform professionally.
We cannot register as a not-for-profit because when a business registers in our platform, they are paying for a service. Although we distribute that money to animal rescues, the business receives a service in exchange for the money they pay us. In other words, by law, we are a service provider.
