It’s the younger generation who think dog training needs shock collars, sticks and other horrible stuff. The old timers did it right.

Yep. You see them all over social media banging on about needing to show you’re a pack leader or something. Pack leaders are not made out of fear. These people know nothing about dogs or they’d know dogs follow who they respect, not who they fear.

There’s no doubt that mainstream media is catching on that animal welfare gets a lot of eyeballs. Every day it seems they are featuring new stories on animal rescues and that is great! I love to see it because despite everything, they still reach a lot of people. The more stories highlighting animal welfare, the better.
And just as I was preparing to open this group, I came across this fabulous cat lady in the Gaurdian newspaper. Enjoy!

My rescue dog was a hand-full when he first arrived. So I hired my 65 year-old neighbour who has been a dog trainer for 40 years. He never used scare tactics or any stressful type of training. No harsh pushing or tugging. Nothing of the sort. My dog loves him, is super happy and a super good boy now.
