Mia

Mia is a 10 year-old Lab-mix.  The fun-loving sister of Mondego and another of KindBunch’s mascots.  This wild gal was found wondering the streets with her brothers and sisters at a mere 5 weeks of age.  Their mother had been run over and they were left to fend for themselves.  7 brothers and sisters.  Huddled together, hungry and alone, with traffic crossing their path.

Luckily a good soul saw them and called a local rescue to take the little ones to safety.  Mia managed to hide under some rocks and, while her brothers and sisters were easy to scoop up to safety.  But she was left behind.  For 3 nights, the frightened lass lay waiting under some rocks.  To make matters worse, there was cold, thunder and a lot of rain that March.  But on the 4th day, when the storm moved on, one rescuer returned, and she heard the desperate, lonely yelps of little Mia. This time, the frightened lass was caught and brought to safety.

The fear of those frightening nights have never left her.

The plan was for her human mother to foster while the rescue searched for a forever home.  Meantime, she met Mondego and Nikki, who taught the young one the basics of home life.  It didn’t take long for foster mum to realize that this was yet another failed foster situation.  The tiny pup was growing into a boisterous, happy, loving, funny little girl and the whole family loved her.

Now at 15 years of age, nothing much has changed.  She is still the neighbourhood’s boisterous, happy, loving, funny little girl everyone loves.

Mia is not looking for a home.  Her human mum is Crissie, who built this platform in memory of Mondego.  And this listing is only active to showcase how the KindBunch Appeals directory will work for future members, and, most importantly, to give an opportunity for all other young ones to find their own forever family.

Mia is not up for adoption.  She is one of the KindBunch mascots. Her listing serves only as an example listing to guide you on how to set up your own listings. 

Update : My beautiful girl passed on 24 March, 2026.  She was 15 years old.  KindBunch was built for her and she will forever live in this space.  Rest in peace my sweet girl. My heart will hurt forever.
